Hebrew alphabet – אלפבת בעברית

Students will review and solidify letter awareness. They will do this by practicing their letter formation through artwork and body.

All about me – אני

Students will begin to form sentences to describe themselves. They will practice introducing themselves, telling their age and some things about them. For example: My name is Samuel. I am six years old. I am a boy. – .שמי שמואל. אני בן שיש. אני ילד
This unit will merge with learning some common verbs.

Students will use their learning to form sentences to describe their actions.

I want – אני רוצה
I go – אני הולח/הולחת
I see – אני רואה
I like/love – אני אוהב/אוהבת
I do/make – אני עושה
I can – אני יכול/יכולה

I want (various food items)
I go (various places - school, home, the store, the park, the bathroom)

Other phrases: "I have" and "I don't have" – יש לי and אין לי
Students will play charades by choosing one verb card (want, go, see, love/like, do/make, can) and acting out the verb.

Animal Yoga - students will lead and participate in yoga stretches and games, such as Snake Breath – רוח נחש.

Activities:
Students will create a family tree and describe their families to the class.
Students will work on their oral word recognition by playing bingo.

Colors – צבעים

Students will learn their colors by identifying what things are typically that color. Students will choose a color and make a collection of items in that color.
For example: Red – אדום The student might paint a picture of a red flower, tomato, etc.
